General information for students

Α) General information

 

A.1. LESSONS: are held in the classrooms of the School of Modern Greek Language in the University’s Campus (Old building of the School of Philosophy) and also in the French Institute (Leoforos Stratou 2Α – Νapoleontos Zerva) from Monday to Friday as stated on the schedule.

The class will occur at least with 10 students of the same level.

An academic hour lasts 45 minutes.

A.2. CHANGING GROUP: is allowed only during the first week of the course. Both teachers have to approve it.

A.3. SYLLABUS: Τhe course’s syllabus is on the website of the School: www.smg.auth.gr (under the link «Studies–> Syllabus»).

A.4. LANGUAGE LABORATORY: Students may use the PCs of the language lab.

A.5. EDUCATIONAL VISITS: Students have the opportunity to participate in educational visits to places of cultural interest.

A.6. TUITION FEE: Students deposit the tuition fee to the following bank account. On the bank receipt you must note down your name and the project code number.

Β) Studies’ Regulation

 

B.1. ATTENDANCE: is obligatory (at least the 80% of the course). The students are not entitled to a certificate of full attendance in the following cases:

In case of any absences students are responsible for covering the lessons. Tuition fee is not refundable in case of student’s responsibility interruption

B.2. DURING THE COURSE:

  • Smoking is not allowed nor in the classrooms or the common places of the School.

  • No food or beverage is allowed in the classrooms.

  • Mobile phones need to be deactivated during lessons.

  • Any form of violence, corporal or verbal, is forbidden and also any offence or threat at the expense of the rest of the students.

  • The teacher has the right not to accept a student in his/her group a week after the beginning of the course.

  • Security measures:AUTh’s Administration makes every effort to secure safety of students and staff. All members of the AUTh community are requested to report directly to the university’s Security service any suspicious or dangerous activity occurring either on campus or in the university units and buildings that are off-campus. This service is operating 24/7 and is located in the Concierge of the Administration building. It is the first point of contact to report such events. Its number is 2310-99-6100. Store this number on your mobile phones, thus making it possible for you to make an immediate report of your concerns.

B.3. AT THE END OF THE COURSE

  • Evaluation of the teaching and administrative staff and facilities: after the completion of the 80% of the course, students fill in e-questionnaires for the evaluation of the teaching and administrative staff and facilities according to the regulations of ADIP for the third degree education. The e-filling in is anonymous and optional and aims to the improvement of services provided. Only the students who attended the 80% of the course may fill in those questionnaires.

  • Exams: written exams are held at the end of the course. The final grade is calculated at 60% of the performance of the student in the classroom throughout the duration of the program and 40% of the performance on written exams. B.5. CERTIFICATES OF ATTENDANCE: are issued the soonest possible after the end of the course. Τhe certificate does not correspond to a certificate of attainment in Greek language.

The Secretariat is open every working day from 12.00 to 14.00 p.m. The administrative staff will be at your disposal for any information or question.
