The School of Modern Greek Language of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki has been offered courses in greek language and culture to foreigners and Greeks from abroad since 1970 and operates ever since under the supervision of the Faculty of Philosophy.

The School also offers tailor-made courses for specific purposes and seminars for teachers of Greek, as well. It participates in research programmes and educational programmes in collaboration with domestic and foreign carriers. It also organises exams for the attainment in greek language, a prerequisite for foreigners to enrol in aGreekUniversity.

The educational staff of the School has a rich teaching experience, and is also involved in the production of teaching material.

The School’s role is not limited to teaching greek. It also emphasises various activities and cultural functions and hosts hundreds of students from all over the world, creating a multicultural environment. Therefore, the students get acquainted with the greek way of life and enjoy contact with different people within the lively and warm atmosphere of the city ofThessaloniki.

ERASMUS+

The School of Modern Greek Language in cooperation with the Department of European Educational Programmes offers Greek Language lessons to the Erasmus+ Incoming Students of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki giving the opportunity to the students to gain basic knowledge of the Modern Greek Language.
